Building Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem is My Key to Success!

from: Christine Gray

Develop your interpersonal skills - If you lack self-confidence and have low self-esteem, you surely have less or don't have social life. This is because you don't have enough courage to meet other people.

What you should do is to develop your interpersonal skills. How? Learn to join groups and learn to open up and trust them. You can start with a close friend you can trust and work your social life from there. Or, you can join seminars, workshops, and programs that would help you build your self-confidence and improve your self-esteem. Shyness and fear is your worst enemy if you want to be open with other people, so you battle them out.

Does the title mean anything to you? Or, are you the kind of person who is more than eager to say this to yourself?

If you are living in what the general population would call "an unhappy personal life", then you have to realize that you need to bring up some personal changes. Of course, "an unhappy personal life" can mean several things. But most often, it means that the person lacks self-confidence and has a low self-esteem. So if you want to bring up personal changes and overturn your current state into successful and happy person as you suppose to be, you need to learn and focus on the following:

Develop your communication skills - Lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem could be rooted from a poor or no communication skills. What you should do is to learn how to talk. Integrate to as many people as you could. But choose only the people you can trust. If you think cannot trust anybody, start with family members or professional therapists.

Have a positive outlook in life and self - Create a mindset that would make you feel better everyday. This would make you see the life and yourself in a positive way. How to do it? Start your day with a smile. Although it may seem corny to you, but starting your day on a positive manner would make the rest of the day pleasant and light.

Do not aim for perfection - If you aim for perfection, you will only frustrate yourself too much. You cannot be perfect and neither other people. So when you make things, aim for the best but accept the chances of error.

Leave the feeling of self-consciousness behind - The opposite of self-confidence is self-consciousness so if you want to build self-confidence, you should learn how to leave your self-consciousness behind. To do this, you must not focus your attention on the fear of humiliation and criticism. Instead, divert your thinking to good things in life. Talk to yourself and be confident on what you do.

Do not concentrate on your failures - In other words, be positive. Do not make it hard for you by thinking all the negative things that have happened on you. Focus on your achievements instead.

Treat yourself right - Eat well, get enough rest, and exercise. These three would make you feel better inside and out. This is an effective way to boost your self-confidence and increase your self-esteem.

After you have done all these, you will surely see the difference to yourself. Soon enough, you can say that, "building self-confidence and self-esteem is my key to success!"
